Black Pepper Powder: 1 tsp
Red Chili Flakes: ½ tsp
Soy Sauce: 1 tbsp
Salt: To taste
Egg: 1
Breadcrumbs: 3–4 tbsp (for binding)
For Assembly:
Burger Buns: 4
Cheese Slices: 4
Butter / Oil: For cooking and toasting
Veggies: Lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and sliced onions
For the Special Burger Sauce:
Mayonnaise: ½ cup
Ketchup: 2 tbsp
Mustard Paste: 1 tsp (optional)
Black Pepper: 1 pinch
👨‍🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the Special Sauce
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard paste, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix well and set aside.
2. Make the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the minced chicken, ginger-garlic paste, black pepper, chili flakes, soy sauce, salt, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix and knead thoroughly.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. (Make them slightly wider than your buns, as they shrink slightly during cooking.)
3. Cook the Patties
Heat 1–2 tbsp of oil or butter in a pan or grill skillet over medium heat.
Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
In the last minute of cooking, place a cheese slice on top of each patty, cover the pan with a lid for 30 seconds, and let the cheese melt.
4. Toast the Buns
Slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on a pan with a little butter until golden and fragrant.
5. Assemble the Burgers
Spread a generous tablespoon of the special sauce onto the bottom bun.
Place a fresh lettuce leaf on top.
Add the hot cheesy chicken patty.
Top with onion rings and tomato slices.
Spread a little extra sauce on the top bun and close the burger.
Pro Tip: For a Crispy Zinger-style burger, replace the minced chicken with a whole boneless chicken breast, dip it in seasoned flour and iced water, and deep-fry until golden and crunchy!
